Tag classifications is where you define the taxonomy of labels applied to Catalog tables and columns. A classification is a category (for example Sensitivity or PII Type). A tag is a label inside that category.
Define the taxonomy here. Apply tags on Catalog assets (table peek / profile, or column panels)—not on this page.

Open Tag classifications

Tags are not a top-level Know sidebar item. Open them one of these ways:
  1. Know → More → All governance → under Glossary & policy, click Tags (Tag classifications and taxonomy).
  2. Command palette: Governance → Tags.
Page title: Tag classifications. Description: Organize governance tags into classifications for catalog assets and policies. Breadcrumb: Governance → Tags.

Classifications (left panel)

The left column heading is Classifications.
  1. Click the + control to open New Classification.
  2. Enter Name (required) and optional Description.
  3. Click Create.
All tags lists every tag across classifications. Selecting a classification filters the right panel to that category. Hover a classification and use delete to remove it (confirm in the dialog).

Tags (right panel)

The right panel heading is All Tags, or the selected classification name.
  1. Click New Tag.
  2. Enter Tag Name (required).
  3. Optionally choose Classification (or None).
  4. Optional Description.
  5. Click Create.
Empty state: No tags — Create a tag to classify your data assets. Delete a tag from the chip control; the confirm flow reports usage when the tag is still applied.

Example taxonomy
