Zwiron supports Oracle Database 12c+ as a source and destination, with CDC via Oracle LogMiner. Use Hosted mode for reachable endpoints, or the Agent when Oracle sits in a private network.

Connection details

Prefer a dedicated least-privilege user (examples below). Test the connection from the Zwiron UI before creating a Job.

Permissions

Source (query + metadata)

For tighter scopes, grant SELECT only on the schemas/tables you plan to sync instead of SELECT ANY TABLE.

Destination (load)

Grant the write privileges your load path needs (insert/update into target schemas, plus create table if Zwiron should create destinations). Prefer a dedicated schema for Zwiron-managed tables.

CDC (LogMiner)

Enable supplemental logging:
Archive logging must be enabled for LogMiner CDC. Confirm with your DBA before enabling CDC Jobs in production.

Sync modes

See Sync modes and CDC.

Hosted vs Agent

Troubleshooting

Confirm host, port, and service name. For Hosted mode, allowlist Zwiron egress IPs. For private networks, use Agent mode.
Verify supplemental logging, archive mode, and the LOGMINING / DBMS_LOGMNR* grants above. Insufficient privileges often surface as LogMiner start errors.
Confirm SELECT on the schema. Re-run Profile on the connection after grants change, then open Catalog.
Oracle NUMBER, DATE, and TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE map to the closest warehouse types. Check the Job’s schema view after the first sync and adjust transforms if needed.
