# Agents

> Manage outbound-only Zwiron agents for private network sync and Match compute.

## Overview

Agents run inside your network and dial **outbound only** to Zwiron. Use an agent when sources or destinations are not reachable from Zwiron’s hosted workers, or when Match / Trust compute must stay on your side of the firewall.

To manage agents in the product:

1. Select **Infrastructure → Agents** in the application sidebar.

For install procedures, see [Install the Agent](/getting-started/install-agent) and [Hosted vs Agent](/guides/hosted-vs-agent).

***

## When to use an agent

| Situation | Recommendation |
| - | - |
| Cloud endpoints reachable from Zwiron (public Snowflake, BigQuery, SaaS APIs) | Hosted is usually enough |
| Databases in a private VPC / on-prem | Agent |
| Policy requires compute to stay in your network | Agent |
| Match / sync must not open inbound ports | Agent (outbound HTTPS only) |

***

## Agent list and detail

On **Agents** you can:

* See agent online / offline status
* Create a new agent and copy the one-time install token
* Open an agent to see connections and Jobs that use it

On agent detail:

| Section | Content |
| - | - |
| **Agent** | Identity and status |
| **Connections** | Connections configured to use this agent |
| **Jobs** | Jobs bound to this agent |

Assign the agent on connections and Jobs (or Match projects when execution mode is Agent) so work routes correctly.
